Twenty Points Demand
As part of the newly formed Leadership Team, the Union hereby presents its Twenty Points Demand after carefully assessing and analyzing the present situation of the State and identifying the pressing needs of the people. These demands are aimed at safeguarding the interests of the indigenous people, promoting good governance, ensuring transparency, and fostering the overall development of Meghalaya.
The Twenty Points Demand are as follows:
Implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) in Meghalaya, and until its implementation, ensuring that the Meghalaya Residents Safety and Security Act (MRSSA) is made fully operational.
No uranium-related activities in Meghalaya and no railway projects until a proper mechanism is established to regulate and prevent illegal influx.
To resolved Inter-State Border Dispute.
Amendment of the Meghalaya Identification, Registration (Safety and Security) of Migrant Workers Act, 2020.
Inclusion of the Khasi language in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution of India.
False assurance given by the State Government in regards to NEIGRIHMS recruitment.
Introduction of a Land Ceiling Act in Meghalaya.
Urgent need of Rehabilitation Centres for Substance (drug) abuse.
Health Sector Improvements..
Agricultural Sector Improvements.
Education Reforms.
Tourism Sector Improvement.
Reformative steps in Sport Policy.
Reforms in MPSC and DSC to be implemented.
Standard Operating Procedures/ Acts to be put in place for other Recruitment Boards.
Abolition of Personal Interview in recruitment of Grade B, C and D.
Transparency in contract work and tendering process.
Policy for private companies or any private business establishment to recruit local indigenous people.
Annual declaration of assets and liabilities by government employees and creation of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Cell or Directorate.
Removal of other Schedule Tribe from Constitutional Order 1950.
